Elizabeth House (Care Home), Welwyn Garden City

Elizabeth House aims to provide the highest standards of residential care to those people aged 65 and over.

Situated in the Panshanger area of Welwyn Garden City, Elizabeth House has been officially recognised as providing the highest level of care by the Care Quality Commission who awarded a 3 star ‘excellent’ rating in 2009 and 2011 following their Review of Compliance.

In terms of care, Elizabeth House offers:

  • modern facilities (originally built in 1983, it was fully refurbished in 2003)
  • 53 rooms all of which have ensuite facilities
  • dining facilities
  • specialist bathrooms
  • lifts which provide access to all the upper floors
  • landscaped gardens including a specially designed ‘sensory garden’
  • recently refurbished dementia wing with a newly created reminiscence room

In terms of care, Elizabeth House offers:

  • a range of social activities
  • hairdressing
  • chiropody facilities
  • care and support which enables residents to live as independently as possible
  • care and support to residents with varying forms of dementia
  • an environment where the key principles of independence, rights, dignity, respect and choice are always demonstrated
  • an environment which actively encourages residents to continue to participate in activities which are important to them
  • a highly experienced and qualified care team (the Association concentrates on keeping its employees fully trained and up to date on best practice to ensure the highest possible level of service to residents).
